Lori Clark Band

With musical influences ranging from Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Eric Clapton & Dolly to name a few. Lori Clark is an artist who writes to move you from one place to another - emotionally, physically and spiritually. As an active member of NSAI- The Nashville Songwriters Association International and ASCAP -American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers & AFTRA - The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. She is now focusing on writing country, christian, and adult contemporary music.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, her love for music began at a young age while listening to her father's Kingston Trio and Everly Brother's records. Spending each weekend night glued to the television, She watched country greats perform on the stage of the Grand Ole Opr'y and the Barbra Mandrel show.

In 1997, She moved to Chicago, home of the blues, to concentrate on songwriting and acting. There she studied at the internationally acclaimed Second City Theatre, Piven Theatre and Old Town School of Folk Music. She also performed with her band while writing original music. Breaking out on her own in 2002 was a natural progression to focus solely on songwriting.

There's been no shortage of inspiration for Lori's album - The Journey. Her love for humanity shines through on such tracks as St. Vincent DePaul - a story of a homeless man and a priest's struggle to find a place for them selves as society looks on. No More Tears at bedtime - a young girl finds love and a home after suffering years of abuse in foster care.

Although most of her writing deals with the more serious aspects of life, Lori's sense of humor is clear with the track Leavin' in a hurry co-written by fellow NSAI member Juliann Salinas. Leavin' in a hurry was written while on a trip to Nashville back in 2004. It's about a young married woman who finds herself in a precarious situation while out with the girls. The two "never laughed so hard" while writing a song. She hopes you'll laugh along too!

Lori is currently writing and recording in Chicago and Nashville and hopes to complete this project in early 2009.
